HomeWagger is a UK social enterprise working to strengthen the connection between human wellbeing and animal welfare.
We believe companion animals should not be treated as separate from the circumstances affecting the people who care for them. Housing problems, homelessness, domestic abuse, financial pressure, health difficulties and other life changes can affect both people and their animals — and sometimes determine whether they can remain safely together.
HomeWagger brings together practical support, evidence-informed tools, responsible rehoming technology and partnerships to help individuals, professionals and organisations recognise when a companion animal matters and find the right response.

The gap we’re trying to close
Human wellbeing and animal welfare are often closely connected, but the systems designed to support them do not always join up.
A companion animal can influence someone’s housing options, safety, wellbeing, engagement with services and decisions about accepting support. Yet that relationship can remain invisible if nobody asks about it or recognises its relevance.
For individuals, this can make already difficult circumstances harder to navigate. People may struggle to find appropriate support, feel pressured towards separation from their animal, or be unsure where to turn.
For frontline professionals and organisations, it can mean trying to respond to complex circumstances without a clear, structured way to recognise, assess or respond when a companion animal is part of the situation.
HomeWagger exists to help bridge that gap between people, pets and the services around them.

HomeWagger began with a simple principle: when someone’s circumstances place their relationship with an animal under pressure, separation should not automatically be the starting point.

Our mission is to improve outcomes for people and companion animals by helping make their relationship more visible within the decisions, services and systems that affect them.
We want people to be able to access appropriate support before circumstances reach crisis point, professionals to feel better equipped to recognise when an animal is relevant, and organisations to develop more consistent, pet-inclusive ways of working.

Frontline practitioners regularly work with people whose housing, safety, health, finances or other circumstances may also affect a companion animal. But unless the animal is identified and its relevance understood, an important part of the person’s situation can remain unseen.
HomeWagger Professional is HomeWagger’s product for frontline organisations and practitioners. It provides structured assessments, support pathways, practical toolkits, resources and learning designed to help services implement and evidence pet-inclusive practice.

The HomeWagger App
Rehoming remains an important part of HomeWagger — but it is one part of a much wider approach.
When circumstances mean a dog genuinely needs a new home, the HomeWagger App is designed to provide a structured, welfare-first alternative to rushed or informal rehoming.
Detailed profiles, guided Expressions of Interest and structured communication are designed to help people consider suitability carefully and make more informed decisions about a dog’s future.
